Three Steps To Help You Choose The Correct Spill Kit

Do you know which spill kit you need? Choose the right spill response kit: stay within ISO14001 compliance and meet the Environment Agency guidelines.

1. Identify What Liquids Are Most Likely To Be Spilt

Oil Spill Kits: for Hydrocarbons (Oils, Petrol, Diesel, Lubricants ...) Solvents, Mild Chemicals etc...
Maintenance Spill Kits: for Water, Hydrocarbons, Mild Chemicals, Detergents etc...
HazMat/Universal Spill Kits: Oils, Acids, Alkalis, Chemicals, Water etc... most liquids

2. Identify How Much Liquid Could Be Spilt

- Absorbency capacity ranges from 1.5-1500 litres
- Choose then the right size kit - if a kit is too small it is ineffective, too large is unnecessary

3. Identify Where The Spills Are Most Likely To Occur

- Is the spillage likely to be inside or outside, near water or a drain, on a hard or soft ground?
- Do you need a grab bag (to carry on a vehicle), or a larger wheeled kit (to keep by a fuel island)?
- A kit with a variety of equipment is best suited for spills outside, on hills or on water. If the spill is easily contained, such as in a workshop or warehouse, kits mainly containing loose EXsorb may be best.
